The flavors are absolutely incredible -- well worth the effort!
I was running short on time, so after making the asparagus puree, I used the pressure cooker to cook the recipe (as this only takes about 5 minutes active time). I doubled the onion and garlic -- because these flavors lose their intensity in the pressure cooker. I kept everything else less the same. I was surprised that I experienced very little perceptible color loss of the asparagus puree in the pressure cooker. Still, if I make it this way again, I will continue to hold the one cup of puree in reserve just in case.
The final result is very beautiful in color, and worked very well with the pan fried chicken & white wine sauce plus the crisp citrusy riesling with which it was served.
